Visas: Most visitors from Western countries don't need visas. However, travellers from South Africa, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Eastern European countries outside the EU and developing countries do require visas. Visas for less than six months are free.

Typical food: The food in Canada is varied. Fish and seafood are often on the menu in coastal regions and is usually good and affordable. French cuisine predominates in Quebec. Traditional dishes include French pea soup, tourtières (meat pies) and poutine (French fries covered with gravy and cheese curds). In the Northern territories, Arctic char, grayling, musk ox and caribou are specialities.
