The stunning Setai is the Asian hotel company GHM's first North American project. Since it opened early last spring it has set new standards for sophistication and service in a city renowned for its world-class hotels. Architect Jean-Michel Gathy's concept of
'Art Deco fusion' takes inspiration from both Miami and Asia: the meticulously restored exterior is pure 1930s Miami, while original 'Shanghai bricks' manufactured in the Art Deco period line the lobby walls, bar and two award-winning restaurants. Private butlers formerly employed by Buckingham Palace
serve the Penthouse unit atop the adjacent 40-storey tower, and the loyal clientele are happy to pay high prices for such superb service and amenities, including Duxiana
beds, Acqua di Parma bathroom products and three beachfront pools set at varying temperatures. The impressive exhibition kitchen in The Restaurant gives guests a close-up look at how the best meals in Miami are prepared, while at The Champagne, Crustacean and Caviar Bar the wine list is world class and the seafood display (and quality) is outstanding. The hotel's eagerly awaited recording studio, designed by Lenny Kravitz, is scheduled to open this summer and will be available to guests for a song.
