THE CADOGAN

LONDON, ENGLAND
PHOTO GALLERY
When elegant hotelier Grace Leo-Andrieu took control of The Cadogan Hotel in August 2003, one of London's best-located small hotels was given a new lease of life. It reopened in April 2004, revitalised but thankfully just as cosy, with 65 bedrooms decorated in contemporary or classic styles - including deluxe doubles in decadent reds with velvet-edged bouclé bedspreads and twill-upholstered chairs. It was once Lillie Langtry's home, and the hotel's history is celebrated in suites dedicated to her lover, Edward VII, and her friend Oscar Wilde (who was arrested in the suite named after him in 1895). Leo-Andrieu is best known for fashion hotspots such as the Lancaster and Montalembert hotels in Paris, and for introducing couture style without sacrificing substance: at The Cadogan Hotel tea is still taken in the drawing room and the service remains charming and genteel. This is a boutique hotel where the doorman will carry your bags and a classic Full English is served at breakfast. There is also 24-hour room service and a restaurant, Mes'anges, which is popular among well-heeled locals.
