This former 16th-century convent makes a fine parador in Trujillo, probably best known as the birthplace of Pizarro, whose family's palace overlooks the Plaza Mayor. The place to eat is Mesón La Troya (00 34 9 27 32 14 32), where there is no menu, but great food of the day.
