CLIMB KILIMANJARO

TANZANIA
PHOTO GALLERY
At 5,895 metres, it's the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest in the world you can walk up. It's a gruelling five-day hike so you have to be fit, but the sense of achievement and the views make it worthwhile. Recover with a safari in the Selous Game Reserve, or on a beach in Zanzibar. Guerba (01373 826611; www.guerba.co.uk) organises treks from £685 per person, as well as safaris and beach holidays.
