This is a basic 'beach shack' chosen for its position on Trou aux Biches beach, one of the best on Mauritius. With its tin roof and polished-concrete veranda with wooden balustrades, it looks like a plantation house in miniature. There is a lawned front garden leading down to the beach; the shops and restaurants in Trou aux Biches village are a couple of minutes' walk away. A children's twin-bedded room opens onto the veranda and there are another two doubles but only one shower room. There is a mezzanine level under the eaves with a single and double bed but it's not the most inviting space. The dining/sitting room is furnished with practical white-tiled floors and white-leatherette armchairs. The house has seen many years of happy use and is perfectly adequate for two adults and up to four children, who will be delighted with the social scene on the beach and damage-proof décor.
