On a quiet, sought-after bay, Les Corallines is a pretty, white, colonial beach house with blue shutters, set in green lawns. It is just along the beach from the Merville Beach hotel and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Downstairs is an open-plan living/dining room that opens onto a covered veranda furnished with cane chairs and a dining table. There are four bedrooms: one downstairs with antique mahogany beds and an en-suite shower room and three upstairs, including two spacious doubles with French doors to a sea-facing terrace. Despite a pink bath and shell-shaped basin, the décor is pleasantly neutral and the furniture is a traditional mix of family pieces, planters' chairs and comfortable sofas. The house sleeps six adults and two children. There are three maids, a full-time cook if required, two gardeners and night watchmen.
