Belle Vue is one of a cluster of five houses on a family-owned plot on Pointe aux Canonniers, a promontory between Mont Choisy beach and Grand Baie. The house is architect-designed with three en-suite, air-conditioned bedrooms and a timber deck jutting out over a small, rocky beach that has sweeping views out to Coin de Mire island and the ultra-exclusive Royal Palm hotel across the bay. It is built on two levels with the informal living areas, kitchen and one of the bedrooms on the ground floor, and two bedrooms upstairs. Furnishings are simple but sensible with new living room suites and seagrass rugs on tiled floors. There is also a small, private garden. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below is a reminder that this is not a brilliant swimming beach, although there are calmer waters within walking distance.
