THE FACTS ABOUT SPA INTERCONTINENTAL
England London

The Spa InterContinental's chic interior, designed by RDD, is a stark contrast to the concrete exterior of the InterContinental London Park Lane that houses it, with black glass and Wenge wall panels, black stone worktops and slate-effect flooring offset by soft furnishings and black leather sofas. The lighting directs the visitor's gaze to one of five cocoon-shaped spa therapy suites, visible through a glass panel (a modesty-preserving wooden screen slides across during treatment).

Elemis claim that over 40 per cent of their clients are men, and the spa has supposedly been conceived with both sexes in mind. With a comprehensive range of facials and massages, Spa InterContinental also boasts a dry flotation therapy room, a steam temple with hydrotherapy shower, and two designated spa guestroom suites, which double as private spas at the whim of guests. The VIP suite comprises a lounge area, a treatment room for two, a private rest room and a minimum three-hour booking time. VIPs will also walk away with £150 of prescribed Elemis products, while lesser mortals can book based on the time they have available or their particular grooming goals, thanks to the unique Time to Spa concept. Elemis' Time for Men treatments start at £115 and other treatments start at £60.
