| THE FACTS ABOUT SHIKARBADI LODGE | |
| India | |
| Once the hunting lodge of the royal family of Mewar, Shikarbadi now feels neglected. Accommodation in the main block is acceptable, but avoid the new rooms - the walls are flimsy and not exactly ideal for honeymooners. Clay-pigeon shooting, boating, jeep and horse safaris can be arranged; there's a private lake and wildlife reserve where you can watch wild pig and boar being fed. ROOMS Doubles cost between £47-£79 a night CONTACT 00 91 294 583 201/02/03; fax: 294 584 841; email: resv@hrhindia.com; www.hrhindia.com WHO TO BOOK WITH It is often difficult to book rooms direct.
