| THE FACTS ABOUT LEMONITRA | |
| Greece | |
| This is one of the most impressive villas on Mykonos, but its idiosyncratic design
may limit its appeal. Its most notable attraction is a downstairs wet room (three
showerheads; three butler's sinks) with an aquarium-view of the swimming pool through an underwater window. There is a small sauna and gym on this level, plus
a bedroom and bathroom. A further two bedrooms are above, opening on to the pool terrace, with en-suite bathrooms down steep flights of stairs. The villa is decorated in monastic white with beamed ceilings, unpainted wood shutters and homoerotic black-and-white photography. The airy living room, high-spec kitchen (with three-inch-thick marble work tops) and dining terrace (the table is made from another massive slab of marble) are in a separate building above the pool. There are stainless-steel appliances, nautical steel lamps, and a live-in housekeeper. The house overlooks Panormos Bay on the north side of the island and is fairly remote: the nearest swimming beach is on the other side of the bay, a 15-minute drive away.
