THE FACTS ABOUT INFINITY
Greece

Infinity is a classic Cycladic house built high above Agrari beach on the popular east coast of Mykonos. The dusty track along which you arrive, the slotted windows and fortress walls belie the villa's interiors of French and Italian antiques, reclaimed heavy doors and limed beams. Old gilt mirrors reflect the Aegean light, filtered through billowing gauze curtains. In the master bedroom, a carved French bed backs on to an enormous internal window, behind which is the bathroom with a built-in bath made of polished concrete (a Cycladic classic) and oversized showerhead (a more worldly addition). The vine-covered pergola on the dining terrace is pure Italian country-house, as is the kitchen, with its peeling, sage-green painted cupboards; but the barbecue is typically Greek. From the infinity-edged swimming pool, reached by a stone path through a cactus rockery, there are views of the neighbouring island of Naxos, and down to Agrari and Elia beaches. At night, with the garden and pool illuminated, and the lights of the beach tavernas twinkling below, Infinity is a magical place.
