Protected by electronic security gates and a resident guard, Villa Punto Caruso is in Lacco Ameno, a wealthy neighbourhood on Ischia, Capri's larger neighbour, where many wealthy Neapolitans have summer homes. Decorated in a tasteful if 'high' Italian style (acres of marble, canopied beds, antiques, Jacuzzis), the house nevertheless maintains an airy ambience. The master bedroom has an open fireplace and a terrace with sea views; there is also a sauna and a large heated-seawater pool with wonderful views over the bay to Naples.
