The term 'villa' hardly does justice to this solid and beautiful mansion. Set in four acres of grounds, it has been decorated with great attention to detail, making good use of local fabrics and ceramics to create a comfortable, English country-house style. Children are well catered for, with a playroom off the main living room and a fenced-and-gated swimming pool; for adults there is an all-weather tennis court, a croquet lawn and nearby golf course, plus plenty of games and books. Torres Do Colegio comes with a full-time chef, general help and two nannies (accommodated in a separate wing) and while the house is also fully equipped with a television, video and CD player, most guests will probably want to pass their days on the lovely arched terrace, watching their offspring run around.
