It's all about the eggs in the Netherlands over Easter. On Palm Sunday, children traditionally go from house to house collecting eggs for games that will be played during the Easter week. They also partake in the colouring of real eggs that are then hidden by the Easter Bunny, giving the children a chance to hunt for them indoors or outdoors. And egg bumping, or eiertikken, is a popular tradition that requires two people to knock eggs together to see which breaks first. Other traditions vary depending on whether a family is religious or not, or where they live in the country, but spring flowers - in particular tulips - are popular Easter treats, and Easter Sunday sees traditional family dinners with Paasbrood, a sweet bread stuffed with raisins and currants, followed by bonfires, Paasvuur, in the evening.
