Gaze out of the generous windows of either of the two Blue Reef Cottages
and you'll be mesmerised by the Atlantic views. To the right is the island of Taransay with the blue-green silhouettes of Harris's northern mountains beyond; down to the left are wide and empty sandy beaches. The round-fronted, stone-clad, self-catering cottages have been carefully designed to blend into their breathtaking setting, each sporting
a turf roof. Just outside the village of Scarista on the west coast of Harris,
they are wonderfully secluded yet very conveniently sited: it's a five-minute walk to the much-acclaimed restaurant at Scarista House; there's a golf club nearby; and the shops of Tarbert are only 15 miles away. Both cottages have a sauna and Jacuzzi and are equipped
with bicycles, golf clubs, picnic backpack, beach towels and other linen. If requested, the owners will provide a grocery start-up pack and a delicious gourmet food hamper.
