THE FACTS ABOUT BEQUIA

In Carib, Bequia (pronounced 'Beck-way') means 'island of clouds', but this islet is all about the sea. Many of the 6,000 inhabitants fish, work for the merchant navy, crew yachts or run water taxis. Peaceful and hassle-free, and with some spectacularly empty beaches, the island also has a surprising range of hotels and restaurants.
