The all-suite resort is on Providenciales, the first island to be developed for tourism in the late 1970s. The island houses 30 upmarket resorts and hotels, as well as numerous villas, cottages and guesthouses. Its main claim to fame is the 20km crescent of powdery white sand that is Grace Bay. A sizeable stretch of it is owned by the Grace Bay Club, which gives guests plenty of elbow room. The resort's décor is subtle, with pale marble floors and bathrooms, muted walls and simple wooden furniture, mostly from Mexico and Bali, offset by colourful Caribbean feel (bright silk cushions and pretty daybeds). There are 21 adults-only suites in the main building, and 38 suites in two family-friendly blocks next door. Suites come with butlers, daily fresh flowers, fruit and other treats. The oceanfront fine dining Anacaona's restaurant serves Mediterranean-Caribbean cuisine, the bistro-style Grill is more informal. The mainly local staff are friendly and attentive, trained at the Hotel School, and make a huge effort to get to know their guests. Activities include sunset sails and excursions, and candle-lit dinners on the sand can be arranged. There is also a spa.
