| THE FACTS ABOUT ST MICHAEL'S HOTEL AND SPA | |
| England Cornwall | |
| While St Michael's has a bit of a conference hotel air about it (must be the logo) that the recent £3.5 million pound revamp didn't remove, nothing can diminish its views. The hotel is located on Falmouth's Gyllyngvase Beach, a two-minute walk from the South West Costal Footpath if you fancy a trek or two, and the views stretch all the way to the Lizard peninsula. The hotel also has a good restaurant and a spa where you'll find both a fitness club and pampering treatments inspired by the sea. The beach is sandy and wide, and very popular during summer. If you want to keep busy, staff will point you in the direction of Cornwall's many garden (there are plenty on the hotel's doorstep) and other must-see attractions. Adventure fans can go on sea safaris or learn how to sail. Gyllyngvase Beach, Seafront, Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 4NB (01326 312707; www.stmichaelshotel.co.uk). Double rooms cost from £65 including breakfast during low season. Find out more about Cornwall in our destination guide | |
