Among all of the five-star resorts in the Maldives, it is the private island of Soneva Fushi that has the best beach. Wrapped around much of the island is a soft, white ring, almost like cotton wool. Where the jungle vegetation has been allowed to spread, it has cut parts of the beach off from one another, creating private 'coves'. The best sand beach is on the sunrise side and along Soneva Fushi's sandbank, where, about 200 metres off the island, guests are able to enjoy picnics, cocktails and night-time barbecues.
