| THE FACTS ABOUT VILLA SENJA | |
| Indonesia Bali | |
| With its ancient beams, distressed wooden shutters and uneven floorboards, there is a touch of the Provencal farmhouse about Villa Senja, the rustic but stylish home of French fashion designers Oliver and Claudine Meslin. The L-shaped house surrounds a grassy courtyard planted with palms and has four bedrooms. Another two bedrooms are set in separate buildings: one is in a quaint wooden shack at the bottom of the garden; the other doubles as a twin bedroom and a fitness/massage room. Each bedroom has a veranda or balcony and all have air-conditioning and en-suite (mostly open-air) bathrooms with polished cement tubs and Asian objets d'art. The open-sided living and dining room are set in a joglo, a traditional wooden structure supported by columns, with a veranda furnished with antique daybeds overlooking the 15-metre pool. Seminyak, with its sandy beach, happening bars and restaurants, is only a 10-minute drive away.
