Four very stylish, self-contained apartments comprise this working winery, which also
has chickens, cows and a vegetable-and-herb garden. The aristocratic owner lives in the main farmhouse and his guests' accommodation is behind: two suites open onto a pretty courtyard garden and two are next to the luxurious hall, a triple-height, open-plan barn conversion with sitting and dining areas. Each unit has a well-stocked (complimentary) fridge and two have kitchenettes. Breakfast is included in the price, and other meals can be arranged; aperitifs are a daily ritual, with cocktails or wine served beside the large swimming pool or at one of the numerous viewing points on the hilly estate marked with a white flag bearing the owner's family crest.
