In spring and autumn this minimalist, architect-designed house is used for yoga, massage, writers' and artists' retreats. It is a beautiful blend of stone walls, marble and oak floors and cedar door frames. The main house has a massive, light-filled, open-plan living and dining room simply furnished with white-drill sofas and shelves fashioned from blocks of Alpine pine. There are no knick-knacks and very few paintings. Upstairs are four en-suite bedrooms with stark white walls and hand-made beds; two share a terrace with views over the four hectares of grounds. The four bedrooms in the purpose-built annexe are well-proportioned and each
has a bath carved out of local sandstone, and a private terrace. Days could be spent happily by the pool, which has a well-equipped pool house.
