THE FACTS ABOUT LA MAISON RORQUAL
France Corsica

On a back road a few metres from the beaches of Saint-Florent, this stone farmhouse has been converted into a hamlet of adjoining guesthouses by its creative Corsican owner, Guy Baldricchi. The five luxurious, en-suite bedrooms have private patios with sea views, and there is a dreamy infinity-edged pool in the gardens. The bedrooms, which can also be rented separately, are decorated with a mix of traditional Corsican furniture and fittings: chestnut-wood tables, wrought-iron beds and driftwood showers, plus homely touches such as hand-crocheted bedspreads. Meals are served in the kitchen/dining room, or on the patio or pool deck. Activities such as four-wheel-drive excursions and gourmet picnics can be arranged. There is maid service and a live-in cook.
