This exclusive, architect-designed house is set in 15.5 hectares of olive and citrus groves overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Florent. The former home of the late French sculptor and architect Albert Verbeke, it is a sprawling, multi-level, hacienda-style glass villa with four whitewashed bedrooms all of which have marble bathrooms (an open, plexiglass shower in the master bathroom juts out over an indoor pool). The elegant, cream-and-white living room and dining area are complemented by Madame Verbeke's extensive collection of contemporary art. In the immaculate grounds are a huge annexe (ideal for older children) and a two-storey guest cottage with four twin-bedded rooms, three bathrooms and a large living room and kitchen. There are also two clay tennis courts. SLEEPS 16
