Named after the olive grove in which it is set, Bergerie Olivella is a charmingly restored 19th-century cottage surrounded by an ochre-coloured wall. Inside is a cosy jumble of country antiques and family heirlooms (the owners live down the road). There is a small open-plan kitchen/dining room and interconnecting living room (with fireplace) which opens onto a sweeping terrace. The terrace runs the length of the house and is also accessible from the master bedroom (with en-suite shower). The double and twin-bedded rooms are small but cheerful. The swimming pool, from which there are superb views of the Valinco Gulf, has an exercise wave for swimmers and a Jacuzzi for sunset-gazers. The nearest village, Olmeto, which has a few shops and country-inn restaurants, is five minutes' drive away.
