TANQUE VERDE RANCH

TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA
This old-school ranch-turned-luxury resort in the foothills of the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson is great for families. With 120 well-trained horses, kids as young as four years old can take horse-riding lessons. The ranch also offers mountain-biking and hiking and has both indoor and outdoor pools and a spa with hot tubs. Accommodation is in one of a series of low-rise buildings.

Cost: There are no packages but daily summer rates for doubles cost from $355, all-inclusive. You are advised to book at least three to four months in advance - more if you are planning to take you family during a school holiday.
