For long-haul holidays, you prefer Air New Zealand because of its excellent service/ staff (87.65) and its child-friendliness (94.67), but Malaysia Airlines is great value for money (91.43) and Thai Airways is your first choice for catering (94.29). Singapore Airlines is the business traveller's favourite, with scores above 80 for all criteria, and above 90 for lounge/pre- & post-flight facilities and in-flight entertainment.

In addition to airlines used for long-haul and short-haul holidays, and those for business travel, this year we asked you to vote for your favourite low-cost airline. Although the final figures reflect a close-call, easyJet soared away with top marks for convenience of booking (87.49), while you say Ryanair offers the best value for money (92.39); Richard Branson's Australian no-frills airline, Virgin Blue, came out on top for convenience of scheduling (80.31) and bmibaby for luggage handling (80.74).
