WHY GO
Located off the coast of Georgia, Little Saint Simons Island is a 10,000-acre nature reserve which spearheads the cluster of resorts known as the Golden Isles (so called because of the coast's spectacular sunsets). The islands are the natural habitat of deer, armadillo, alligator and turtle and typical activities include bird-watching, nature walks and bike rides along the seven-mile beach.
