Squeezed into the coastline between the Cantabrian mountains and the French border in Spain, the three provinces of the Basque country conceal stunning scenery: mountains, rivers, sandy beaches and rolling plains of luscious green pasture to the south, dotted with vines. Bilbao's glittering Guggenheim museum has become the new symbol of the Basque country. But the best reason for travelling to this part of the world is the gastronomía.
