| Visas: Citizens of many countries - including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the USA and virtually all of Western Europe - require only a passport to enter Luxembourg for stays of up to three months. Public holidays: New Years Day; Shrove Monday; Easter Monday; Labour Day; Ascension; Whit Sunday & Whit Monday; National Day (Sovereign's Birthday, 23 June); Assumption; All Saints Day; All Souls Day (2 Nov); Christmas Day; Boxing Day; New Years Eve. Good buys: Be sure to try the pastries and beer. Local dishes: Luxembourg's cuisine is similar to that of Belgium's Wallonia region - plenty of pork, fish and game - but also features some heavy German influence in local specialties like liver dumplings with sauerkraut. Its beer (like that of neighbouring Belgium) is not too shabby; neither are the Moselle Valley's fruity white wines. Interesting fact: Luxembourg has more Michelin stars per kilometre than anywhere else in the world.
