This is a hotel which provides authentic colonial grandeur but doesn't skimp on the modern comforts. Opened in 2002 in Galle as the sister-property to the popular Sun House, the Dutch House is a wonderful example of Ceylon colonial architecture dating back to 1712. High on a hill, it overlooks Old Galle Fort, the harbour and the Indian Ocean beyond, and is set in beautiful tropical gardens with an infinity-edged pool and croquet lawn.
